The Hotel Zum Stichn offers you an unforgettable stay with first-class service and great attention to detail. The Hößl family and the team in the hotel, restaurant and beer garden attach great importance to quality and comfort in order to ensure that guests have an all-round successful stay. “Zum Stichn” has stood for cozy hospitality in Grafenwöhr since the 1960s.
The name of our house is a symbol of hospitality and we always strive for the well-being of our guests. The familiar atmosphere has been our secret of success for generations.
The house name Stichn, which is still alive today, comes from the previous owner Johann Michael Stich. He married into the property in 1752 and bought the house with his wife on February 11, 1752 from father-in-law Johannes Schloor. On May 27th, 1780 the house passed to her son Josef Stich. The Hößl family joined in 1801 when Konrad Hößl acquired the house by marrying Margaretha Stich in a letter dated June 18, 1801.
The old Stichn-house used to be on Pechhofer Straße next to the so-called Stichn-Bruck. Burnt down in 1841 it was rebuilt in the same year. In the same year, the entire suburb was redesigned. A wide street market with straight rows of houses to the left and right developed along the Neue Amberger Straße. This is how the Stichn-inn came to its current location.
Our company has been a member of the Bavarian hotel and restaurant association DEHOGA Bayern e.V. since 1965. The hotel and restaurant association is the industry association for hoteliers and restaurateurs. It positions the hospitality industry according to its outstanding economic, social and cultural importance for the benefit of its guests, its employees and our country.
In order to be able to offer our guests the best quality and service, we train our junior staff ourselves. We offer chef (m/f/d) and hotel management (m/f/d) training positions.
