Grafenwöhr

Traditional, progressive, dynamic – this is our home. Located in the heart of the northern Upper Palatinate, Grafenwöhr, together with the communities of Eschenbach, Pressath and Kirchenthumbach, forms the four-city triangle in the district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab.

In summer, enjoy the beautiful weather in the municipal outdoor pool with miniature golf course or visit the 1st Oberpfalz culture and military museum and learn more about the history of the region.

The Grafenwöhr military training area characterizes the region and is the largest US military training area outside of the USA. In the US Army Garrison Bavaria, just 750 meters from the hotel, units of the United States Army Europe (USAREUR), the United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) and other NATO forces exercise.

Oberpfalz Forest

The Oberpfalz Forest Nature Park offers its guests numerous natural highlights from romantic river meadows, ponds and wet to moorland meadows to rugged karst areas and idyllic Jura plains to numerous mountain ridges covered with extensive forests. Also striking are the basalt cones such as the Parkstein and the Kulmen, which bear witness to the volcanic character of the landscape.

Discover this beautiful landscape while hiking through forests and across meadows, fishing and boating in beautiful river valleys, horseback riding or cycling. In addition to Bavaria’s longest fruit trail, geological trails are also available to interested hikers. The “Holzweg” forest trail near Eschenbach, for example, explains a lot to hikers about forests and nature conservation. The family and nature-friendly Creußen cycle path leads directly through Grafenwöhr and is a feeder for other beautiful cycle paths through the Oberpfalz Forest.

Regensburg

The UNESCO World Heritage City of Regensburg is considered to be one of the most beautiful and oldest cities in Bavaria, if not in Germany. It owes this above all to its particularly beautiful and well-preserved old town.

Stroll through the romantic alleys of the medieval town with its magnificent squares and shop in a historical ambience. The offer ranges from small shops to entire shopping malls.

Regensburg also offers its guests a number of sights and excursion destinations. These include, for example, the Walhalla, the castle Turn und Taxis or a boat trip on the Danube.

Bayreuth

The city of Bayreuth, which grew historically as a margravial residence, is world-famous as the venue for the Richard Wagner Festival. The sights of Bayreuth, such as the charming castles, the historical Ermitage Park with its dreamy grottoes and fountains, the Festival Hall, numerous museums and the wide range of cultural activities promise eventful days in every season.

In addition, Bayreuth offers exciting leisure facilities such as the Lohengrin Therme wellness oasis and an 18-hole golf course. The city center and the Rotmain Center invite you to go on an extensive shopping tour.

Nürnberg

The second largest economic center in Bavaria connects the modern city with the past. History becomes visible and tangible in Nüremberg. The historic Kaiserburg is particularly impressive. Numerous sights leave no room for boredom. With over 30 museums, Nüremberg offers exhibitions on a wide variety of topics. Visiting the sights in the historic ambience of the old town can easily be combined with a stroll through boutiques, glass shopping arcades or department stores.

From fashion to jewelry and shoes to antiques, there is something for every taste and budget. A charming feature of the shopping city of Nüremberg is the Handwerkerhof. Traditional craftsmen such as tinsmiths, glass cutters, glass painters, doll makers and leatherworkers offer their products here in the typical half-timbered ambience.
